Default Best B18C setup on budget?

Hey, I have a completely stock 2000 gsr with highway miles about 120k miles. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what I can do to my motor to make the most power out of it. I am going to compression test it and see what numbers I pull out first. Overall, what internal mods can I do on my budget that will get me the most power. The major things I would think of getting out of the way first would be i/h/e (I dont have those yet). If my budget is $1000-$1500, what can I do to make my motor in the 200+ whp range on motor setup? Thanks in advance.

200whp on 1500 bucks, no you're gonna have to compromise power or money. You could probably get 180whp with 1500. I 'm spending around 8000 bucks to get around 215whp, but i must say mine is a little overbuilt.

i would say get LS crank and rods (machine work to use pistons) with ctr pistons then good cams and intake manifold and then hondata or uberdata for tuning

why CTRs will yeild around a 13.3:1 compression with 89mm stroke, it will knock like hell and will take more than 93 octane

read the thread at the top about them

If you are doing all the labor and tuning yourself it may be possible, if you get some good prices on all the parts. But you normally can have only 2 of the following 3 ;

FAST
CHEAP
RELIABLE

Oh, arite, i guess its not possible to go 200whp, i think that was a lil outta range for my price. Anyway, some of you said that I can pull off 180whp with about 1500 bux. Does anyone know what a 180whp Gsr would run at the 1/4 mile track? Overall, I want to make my car low 14's high 13's if I am going all motor. Thanks

it sounds like you just want to go as fast as possible with the least amount of money, in that case, you chose the wrong car sorry, just giving you a hard time.

Good one...back to the issue at hand, someone mentioned a used greddy kit for 1500 bux? Is a used turbo kit reliable and where can I find it?..Greddy turbo kit is still an option, but Im debating on whether or not i should get it bc of the cost brand new (like 3grand). I'll go for a used turbo kit for that price

I used this setup LS crank and rods with ctr pistons in my B18C all motor build I ran 93/110 mix but u could run straight 93 if u have it tuned for pump. My friend is using B18C1 ls crank, 85mm and 13:1 on pump gas.

Greddy turbo kits are generally reliable but you never know what you're getting when you buy used. To get into the 14's or high 13's on street tires you're going to need 200+whp and know how to drive your car. I/H/E and nitrous will get you those times at the track for sure and keep you pretty close to your total budget.

All-motor is very expensive, better to do it right then 2 or 3 times which can end up hurting your wallet more than you intended to. For your budget and desired times...nitrous is the best bang for the buck...

I think I'll go turbo if i can pull up the money. Im not afraid to spend money on getting hp whether it be all motor or FI. I was just wondering if i could make a nice amount of power w/ all motor at a lower cost than going turbo. Apparently, to pull out nice numbers, i would be spending alot more on the all motor setup. First im gonna get my car compression tested, and depending on if the results are good, ill go for the greddy turbo GSR kit.

If i go turbo, I gotta question about fitment of the Intercooler. I have the 2000 OEM raybrig fogs on my GSR, will the Front mount intercooler fit behind them, or will I have to remove the fogs?.. I want to keep my fogs in place with the front mount behind them. Anyone who has a response to this question, post up, thanks
