Default Crappy tint job?

I just had my windows tinted, and the front windows aren't completely covered. The guy said that he couldn't get the tint in behind the gasket on that side of the window. I'm about to take it back to him demanding he re-do it, but I just wanted to make sure that this isn't a common thing before I did. Before you say "cosmetic forum", I'm here because this is on a 94 si hb, and I am wondering how to remove that gasket.

Thanks!

take it back and get your money back too. the guy sucks at tinting windows or is a lying bastard if you cant get the whole thing tinted. he should be able to get it in there

so you see a giant gap when the window is rolled up... ?... take a pic of the actualy window so we can really see.. but if its not tinted.... it's not tinted.. i would also suggest that he takes the glass out.. its really easy.

nice avatar cap! I checked the clearance, and it's SUPER tight between the window and the gasket. Is there a way to take it out?

menk, I just ripped the tinting out tonight because it looked horrible. That drawing I did is to scale though- there was about a 1/2-3/4" gap on both front side windows.

ohh yea, if he does'nt fix it.. ask him to write a letter explaining the situtation and why he would'nt fix/refund the money. Ask him to sign it so you can give it to your laywer. The great joys of america is you can sue really cheap these days.

that's a horrible tint job! have him remove it and refund you the money; i wouldn't trust him to do it again if he gave you a lame excuse like that.

definitely remove it though. if you take it to another tint guy, he might charge you more simply b/c removal can be a b*tch sometimes.

thats a shitty job. I got to see the guy tinting my windows as i stood there, and he cut out the template on the outside of the window, peeled off the backing and adhered it to the inside of the window and timmed away the excess. Go back and get ur $$ back

My brother just removed front tints form his car at $25/window.
He bought the car used from a dealer with all windows tinted (we all knew it was illegal, but oh well). A year later got a few warnings to take the front tints down or else get a ticket.
When we were in the shop, I asked them how much it would cost to tint the 3 rear windows on an EK, and the said it's around $250.

So to remove and re-tint (in Chicago area) would come out to around $110 per window.
