Axle problem. GSR in 95 del sol S
Whats up guys. i have a 95 del sol S model with a gsr motor i just dropped in. I have gsr axles, but the passenger side axle is too short. I measured the axles i have, 24 inches, and i measured another set of gsr axles, which also came out to be 24".
What im wondering is, are the hubs on the S model different from say those on the Si model? The axle slides into the hub, but it only sticks out half a thread (where the axle nut goes). Any ideas?
If need be, would a whole gsr front suspension bolt right up and fix my problem?
TIA, josh

that has nothing to do with it. It slides in fine. I cleaned everything with a wire brush. The axle is physically not long enough.
Im thinking its the knuckles, because a few months ago, my brother wrecked his civic, and i switched the knuckles, and i had to switch the axle too because the one was an inch too short.
Its too short to the point i tried to make it fit and the inner joint came apart...

could be automatic?? Beats the hell out of me. When similar **** happend to me I just went to local shop and compared it to one of their axles.
not automatic. Thats why i compared the ones i had to other ones that i KNOW are out of a manual gsr.... Im still thinking its the suspension, but it would suck to get all diff stuff and bolt it up and it still be wrong.

oh yeah did you try to put a nut on the axles and tighten it up, usually it pull it out more. I don't know why I didn't say it before.
there arent enough threads to put the nut on.
There is no way this axle will work. I did get it pulled through, but the inner joint of the axle came apart.
Right now, i just need to know why it doesnt fit.

well i just went through the catalog on hondaautomotiveparts.com and it seems the upper and lower arm and knuckle are the same on the S and Si models. Im going to check DOHC vtec coupe now
The car had a damn b18 in it before it got stolen. and the motor pulled. Everything underneath looks good.

the knuckle is different on the dohc vtec coupe, while the upper and lower arm is the same.

i think i still have the boxes, ill have to check the labeling tomorrow. But im pretty sure i went through em when i got them and double checked...
your motor seems its closer to the drivers side then normal, might just be the picture tho. I have a feeling you have the wrong mounts, or the axle is just wrong.
let me see if i have one... if not, it'll have to wait till saturday. Car is an hour away, it sucks to have to drive an hour each way just to look at/work on it.
