Hey guys i'm from Toronto, Canada and I just bought another 5th gen Accord LX (DX for you US guys) and it has rear drums. I read up on the rear disc conversion post....but I was wondering if this might work.

Would the rear disc conversion from a Acura 3.0 CL fit a 5th Gen Accord? I have all the part, hub, knuckle, wheel bearing, caliper, rotor, e-brake lines. The reason why I have these parts is that I bought a wrecked CL for $800.00 and I wanted to convert the rear disc to my 5th Gen. Thanks for reading....

swap both the front and rear off the 3.0CL. It is a direct bolt on. I am not sure if the swap bar is bigger, but if it is put that on too.

The 3.0 front has 11.1inch rotors and larger calipers, it also uses an easier and cheaper floating rotor so when it comes to rotor changes you'll be happy. Swap the whole spindle and arms since they will probably have less mileage on them and in better condition.

for the rear swap everything too and add the sway bars since your DX doesnt have it.

You can probably use alot more off the CL too.

The cluster should swap over, the CL has better looking numbers. Take the leather steering wheel, it should be the same as the Accord steering wheel. Use your "H" airbag.

He's not talking about the 3.2 CL-S, he's referring to the earlier model 3.0 CL.

sorry i should have used punctuations. hehe i was talking about the cl's plural. they use ABS, and i always thought that they had to press on ABS rotors... something to look in to.

i have a set of drilled CL rotors that ive been too lazy to put on my accord since the press the accord ones on and they are a pain to change

 

I think they switched to the floating rotors in 98. I know my friends 98 3.0CL has floating rotors.

 

hmm thats good to know. wonder if floaters would work on a pressed setup. ill have to look into that..

 

sinister2c - Hey dude, thanks for the imput. I'm going to do the whole conversion in 3 weeks and your right the cluster looks much better. I'm actually selling the front and rear seats and also the steering wheel. I will post up some pics once the swap is complete. Thanks again.

I think the hub bearings are larger. You might have to get a whole spindle from a 3.0CL to make it work.

damn tlak about digging far back to drag something back up....

 

The 97 cl's have pressed rotors and the 98-99 do not... It should work however.. these (97) are a pain to get off.. I would suggest a 98-99 conversion.. post some pics of your progress..
