looking for a clutch set up that can withold allmotor 250+ hps in a h22 tranny? 6 to 3 puck race ACT, Exedy,Clutchmasters, Clutch net, or even the big bling-bling Tilton? wanna know the best clutch set up! thanks
Well most clutches for different apps. are put in different categories by how much tq. you'll be making. All motor, i think a simple 6 puck would be suffiecient.
ACT burns out h22 trannies really quickly
Some guy with a supercharged 5th gen had a clutchmaster for 3mos. because it burned out real fast
Exedy has gotten awesome reviews which is why I am about to put in my stage 2 cerametallic clutch. Be sure to not get just the most expensive because for 250hp you won't need it. I am expecting about 275whp for a daily driver and the stage 2 is the best. Good luck!

dont put the title in all caps.
and you don't need a crazy clutch for 250hp. Street disc, slightly upgraded pressure plate, you should be fine. Nothing ultimate about it.

i've got the clutchmasters stage 5 drag clutch, and honestly, the pedal pressure is stock or maybe 5% stiffer, and the clutch chatters during daily stop and go driving (not a big deal). It says its only for the strip, but i drive my car 2500 miles a month and it seems pretty good so far. it certainly grabs and is good to several hundred pounds of torque. (i can't remember the exact numbers). clutchmasters
.
by the way........no offense, but 250whp isn't going to be much of a "drag-racing" car. You might be able to pull off a 13. You just need a regular street/strip clutch.

I would think that would be overkill for a NA setup as he would probably at most see 180lbs tq. LOL
A nice first stage clutch would hold that and some.

HP is irreveleant when judging what clutch to use. Its the torque which is important.
