type S's are 14.9-15.3 second cars
but have alot of potential

20hp from intake and exhaust....whp!!!
i was surprised myself....it would probably be a mid 14second car after that.

stock RSX-S on right, my type R on left (stock but for intake) . RSX driver was experienced drag racer (more so than me), this is at Keystone PA which is about 2000 feet above sea level. He ran 15.6 on all of his runs.

are you sure that wasn't an automatic RSX? That time and trapspeed is VERY wrong. 89 mph trap?? thats definately not right.

Thats not that far off for a new driver in one. My best time is 15.2 @ 92.88 mph all stock no race gas.

That guy in the S that the time slip is posted for is NOT a good driver! a 2.4 60ft? Please. I pulled a 2.2 with the car completely stock with stock michelins and ran 15.2@92. With better tires an S will go 14 no problem.

Yea that time has to be off,15.6 bad shifting.Nice time from an almost stock R.The driver makes or breaks the car,my friend has a 2k GSR bone stock, and spanks my other 2 friends preludes with I/H/E.So the driver makes a world of difference,i would expect atleast a low 15.

I agree, I have a friend with a turbo prelude that ran mid 13's and he raced another friend's stock RSX-S and lost to him. what's the deal with these 15's??

A 2.2x is pretty much the best you can do street tires with an open diff. a 2.1x is RARE, but could happen on the best day. Even then, you'd still be running 15's. The RSX-S doesn't really have a traction problem issue once you get out of the hole.

The 15.6 seems typical to me from what I've seen at the track. A RSX-S with intake was running consistant low 15's. But 14's stock isn't believable, IMO.

sorry, I didn't mean to sound like that
I meant, you couldn't knock of 2 tenths if you already have a 2.2 60', is all. More power to you if it happens, but not likely.

I really think a different final drive would REALLY help. The car was sluggish when I drove it on the 1 to 2 shift. Maybe in a few years the ITR tranny will be available.

I just thought it sounded weird the way you said it. And I would definetly have to agree with you about the 1 to 2 shift. But if you wind it out to about 8300, and get a good shift in you can keep it wound up and get a good run.

I launched at about 3500 and feathered in the clutch. Tire pressure was at about 25-27psi i believe. The run didn't feel that fast, cause it hopped a bit off the line, but it turned out pretty good.

At Great Lakes Dragway in WI about three months ago there was an RSX S running constant 14.6-14.7's. The car had no mods and was not stripped at all. The only thing that I forgot to check was the tires so I'm not sure whether he was running the stockers or something aftermarket.

YOU ARE HIGH!! 15.6 OMG that meants its same speed as a bone stock Si pretty much? oh hell no.

rsx-s is a high 14 car with a good driver and lower tire pressure STOCK. I mean i beat a black 2k1 type R and my car just had an intake and exaust. i beat him by almost a car length... type R=14.7 crappy driver? 15.2 all day 1car lenght win? 14.8 about. easy.

launched at 3500? i launch at 5 grand-5500 on street tires ;-) lil trick but taht way im in vtec land. Low end kind of disapoints me in type S comapred to my type R i had. =T so launch high and stay high!

14.7 is crappy from an ITR. I have a friend whose ITR runs consistent 14.4@96 with only an AEM. ALso, i have NEVER seen an RSX-S run 14s. Ever, thats in florida where were like 0 ft above sea level.

13.2 to 13.4 depending on launch, trap speed right around 100 mph.

Stock 2001 Lightning

The second car is a 1997 Eagle Talon AWD. 15 sec 1/4 mile. It needs more upgrades...

He asked for 1/4 mile times w/out specifying the car.

I am number 3 on my Acura dealers' waiting list for a RSX Type R (white), so I am having fun reading all you peoples' comments and ideas. I apologise for misposting, I just could not resist it...
