Default Port and Polish quick question!

I am thinking of getting a port and polish done on my head and intake ports for the manifolds. I have a B16a2 the usual I/E/H setup, with CTR cams and hondata ecu (both still to be installed).

What i want to know is that will i get power with a full PnP THROUGHOUT the rev range.. ie. from low and mid and high end? I am looking for more low to mid end power and tourqe.

I'd say there are no guarantees, likely you will make more power in most places but there could be a few spots where you lost some. Some professional porters in this forum should have some good info.

Thanks! So low-mid end power will increase significantly, approx. 5hp+??

a good port will no decrease power from stock anywhere but it will change the power band for example if you are making peak power at 7200 rpms with a stock head your peak power may be at a higher rpm with a port.

Are you sure it changes the power band?? Do you not get an increase in power at low revs and a gradual increase at higher revs? By shifting the power band, means power comes in later in the revs...

I'm expecting a gain of 5hp between low-mid revs for this to be worthwhile for my application.

there are many designs used for different set ups its all a trade off in most cases. if you want max peak flow you sacrifice low lift if you want good through the hole lift processes you will not get a huge peak flow. remember from .050 to about .150 you are in over lap so dont worry if those numbers are slightly lower than the stock base line. i understand your asking about horse power but flow numbers do impact the power band.

so you're saying that you can port the head such that the flow of air can cause the powerband to effect the low to mid range, if required?

so in effect, can a good port/polish defined by the type of flow, give 5hp to low-mid and about 10-15hp in the high end?
