Ok so im driving down a highway at around 50 mph,and come to a stop.Well when im on my way to the stop sign i start to feel a duh duh duh duh and it goes along with how fast im going. It kinda seems like maybe in axle binding but when im moving and keep steady acceleration,it doesn't do it.When i let off of the throttle it starts to thump and clunk again. It also does it when im turning from left to right and also inbetween shifts when i put the clutch in.Any ideas what it could be?? Axle bind?? Bad wheel bearing? Something in the steering column?? Anything will help me out guys, also i didn't know if this was the right forum to post this in or not but oh well.By the way my car and setup is in the sig below. Thanks.
It seems like a suspension or a loose steering component. It's hard to point out what exactly the problem is because its one of those things that you have to see to diagnose. But I saved this because I thought I was gonna need it someday:
a loud, metallic "cracking" sound from the front of a CRX during hard accel/decel is probably coming from the front beam (a. k. a. the crossmember). Loosen the beam mounting bolts, then retighten them to 47 ft. lbs. , and give it a try. If the problem hasn't gone away, remove the bolts and insert washers (P/N 90509-SH3-000, but standard flat washers should work) between the body and the beam. Do one side at a time so you won't have to wrestle weight or realign the wheels.
Hope that helps.
