I wouldn't stick anyone back there. Way too much stuff to hit. Even if you think it's safe, and if someone rides back there, if you were to get into an accident, your insurance company will have your head, and the passenger has grounds to sue you.
Also, regarding 4 point harness, don't do that. Get a 5 or a 6 point, and mount it properly. 4 point harnesses always ride up. If you get into an accident, bad stuff can happen. But I guess if you don't mind your guts getting crushed...

You could always duct tape them to the diagnal bar 
Don't do it. Also, pad anywhere you or a pessenger might hit with good quality padding, a steel cage does not give like the new soft interiors in a wreck.
