Here's the lowdown, I can trade in my RSX auto for a type-s and suffer a 1800 depreciation on my car even though i've had it for only a month. That's a 3100 difference.

Let me know if I should trade it. I'll be driving in some traffic and hills. And I know how to drive stick (my first car was a stick but that was 8 years ago), but haven't do so in quite some time. How long will it take me to get good enough to commute to work everyday (20miles, 40 roundtrip).

 

Is the rsx-s an 05? a screw it. get it. i love mine and wouldn't trade it ever! the fact you are even thinking about it...means you should get the RSX-S! besides...it's gonna be faster! stick is easy. shouldn't take you long, since you used to drive one...it'll all come back to you!

 

yea i'm pretty sure i'm going to. But please give me more feedback......if not feedback, give me some excuses to tell my girl about trading in my rsx after only a month and losing 1800.

 

I drove an EP3 for a little less than a year. the EP3 has pretty much the same engine as the base model RSX (intake manifold is different). I drove the RSX-S and then I traded in my EP3. It's so much quicker, and more fun to drive. If it's only gonna put you out 3000...that's better than doing an engine swap for a better engine later that'll set you back alot more (and the engine will be used). That's my feedback.

As for you lady friend...Just tell her, "Hey, babe...this makes me happy."

 

oh yeah and 50 HP is alot. 160HP < 210HP

 

if u wanna be slow keep the auto base model but if u wanna be fast get the S i would get the S i got the S and i am happy as hell with it!!! i love my 05 S!!!

 

I just got a new cd head unit with an alpine ipod interface control 2 weeks ago at circuit city. Will they or the dealership uninstall that and then re-install into my type-s?

Any advice on how to handle the situation?

And how good is the stock cd player of the type-s? Should i return my cd player and use the stock or keep my alpine?

 

Circuit City will uninstall your alpine and reinstall your factory head unit. keep the alpine and ipod for the S. cuz....why not? Don't give the dealership back the car with that radio in it...they won't give you **** for it!

 

it might come with the bose system cuz the S is just pimp like that but you shouldve known we would all pull for the S and like everyone said .... as for the lady friend " baby ( puppy face ) it makes me happy ...............then stomp on it and let it hit iVTEC and take it all the way to 8 and watch her **** he pants LOL

 

Went into the dealership today and did the paperwork. They only had a silver rsx-s in stock but not a black one, and that'll be here sometime next week. Circuit City will uninstall and reinstall stock for me for free. But to re-install into new type-s they are charging an additional 50. I'll see if I can slide the guy 25 under the table.

So I'm on the way. 6 more days. REALLY REALLY hard to wait.

As for my girl, she's still hella pissed and we're on the verge of fighting everytime i bring it up (which every 3 minutes). Guess I'll just have to suck it up and take it until I let her ride in it and I redline it.

whenever girls argue about spending money on a car. just tell them i'll stop spending money on my car if you stop buying make-up/excess shopping, and all the other loads of crap you buy that you dont need.

Just so you know, the six-day wait will make it seem like 6 months! I have to wait another 10 days before I pick up my '05 Civic Si. Anyway, congratulations and great decision on switching the auto for the 6-speed manual TYPE-S.

Why is your girl still upset? Is her name on the loan of the car? Did she foot the bill? Is she upset because you're going to have other babes checking you out more because of her footing the bill? Oh, and don't forget to change your id from RSXnotS to RSXyesS. Enjoy the ride...

 

I've been all over Florida - there are no hills. On my daily commute I cover more elevation than the highest point in your state - and the stick shift isn't an issue.

Huh. That got me thinking - I actually descend 400 feet from where I live to my office...

The Type-S clutch is easy and the gearbox is pretty precise. Only issue is with really long traffic jams or 5 block backups at stop signs.

 

well i'm in philadelphia for 8 months on an internship, that's why i'm concerned about the hills. If I were still in florida, none of this would have ever been an issue, and I'd be driving a type-s at this moment.

dude, man up, hills aren't a big deal

 

Got my type-s today....Ear to ear baby. Ear to ear. Worth every penny. Cost me an arm and a leg and got a higher interest rate, but worth every penny. I'm gonna keep the stock stereo and return my alpine head unit and ipod interface to save some money, and put in some HIDs.

Anyone put HIDs in your 05 type-s? Any recommendations?
