Power Washed My engine bay now nothing works!!!!

I know your supposed to cover the electrical and dizzy and everything, Which I always do on my civic but i was just doing a quick clean on my beater 91 integra and only took the battery out and now nothing works. i put the key in and it acts like the battery is dead which i know its not! No lights or anything will work!!! What can i do besides wait? Thanks for any help! And yes I know I'm a dumb ***!

No I know its not the battery cause it works perfect in whatever car i test it in and its brand new!
i would assume if u know ur battery is no dead, check fuses cause maybe a little water got somewhere and when u hooked up the battery it blew a fuse. if not those maybe u can just wait a day or so, that way u know that sucka is dry.

Yeah hopefully thats the case! But is there something i could have done to **** the wiring up for good or will everything be good eventually? I even got some water in a couple cylinders so Im gonna change them up and let everything dry! Man I'm dumb! Never again!
you got water in the cylinders? as in the block itself? if u did its probably best that you didnt turn the motor over cause it could damage the engine. but i'm sure you couldve ruin something (not saying you did). some of the components on the motor were not meant to get wet. maybe a little splash here and there but not a wash.

what i meant by in the cylinders was just some got in from the top of the valve cover. the spark plug wires didnt seal perfectly wit a pressure wash pounding on it! so i know thats gonna be ok. I already pulled the sparks and let everything dry. I'm think i will check all the fuses in the morning and hope it is just one of them! I will let you all know thanks for the help. Any more will be greatly appreciated!!!!

remove all the harness connectors going to the engine, distributor, starter, etc.... and clean them out. a good clean connection is KEY to proper start.

Look under the fuse box under the hood and there should be a fuse for battery. It one of the ones that are screwed down. I've had that blow a few times and everything went dead.

Cool thank you guys! how do i go about cleaning all the connections? just wiping and letting them air dry?

yes wipe them down or if you can't reach to some of the small connectors with your rag use a blow dryer or compress air

I just took the battery out and try to stay away from the others but pretty sure it was the fuses that Fucked me! And the battery can short out very easily if still connected! But the whole car can short if u connect the battery while everything is still wet!
I work at a body shop for my dad and I wash cars all day, And when I was cars with engines with similar setups like a B-18 engine, I usuall just wash it out, and then take a air compressor and blow the **** out of everything. I also try and stay away from the alternator, distributor, and spark plug wires/covers. But even if I think I didnt get any water on them, I blow them out with air anyways. And I always let it sit and not try and start it for at least an hour. BTW, the battery wont be affected by spraying water on it lol.
i wash mine with it runnign .....cover the dizzy and the water wont short tha batt out unless it was submerged..i take it real easy around the hot parts(i di this on a cold motor by the way ).....that way i knwo if the last thing i hit with water staled the car...
if there is no power at all the its between the batt and the fuse box...if you have lights and not engine its different ...i woudl mae sure the batt was hooked up right and make sure to test the fuse...sometimes looking at it isnt enough.....and you may have knocked a main ground loosed somwhere
i could go on for hours on how to diagnose it but try those thing and ket me know ..if they dont work get your self a multi meter and give me a hollar .....good luck

If you don't take the battery out when cleaning engine bay you should cover it to keep the 2 terminals from being joined together through beads of water...
dude, it doesnt do anything lol you can touch both ends and nothing happens, I havent done it but Ive seen the mechanic do it barehanded lol.
water cannot carry the full 12 volts through a stream....ever seen a car under water ..lights will stillwork ...if you were talking 120v then yes there would be problems

Personally I think you took your battery out, set it on concrete, and drained it. You say you've tested it in other cars since it doesn't work in your car or before? Also, check the fuses, if nothing still works, then it has to be your battery son. Especially if your damn lights and gauges and stuff are not lighting up.

for a short period of time, you are right, but leave it out overnight and see. Unless you have a yellow top or something, it should be dead.
