BLINKING "D4" LIGHT! ......HELP!!!!
recently, the "D4" light on my speedometer started flashing continuously every time i drive it. i asked a local mechanic, and he told me that it was most likely a bad tranny computer. so i purchased a used unit and installed it. it still does the same thing. what else could cause it to do that? its a 1992 honda accord dx by the way.
You gotta read the error codes, kinda like when the check-engine light comes on...
Probably there's a connector somewhere behind the glovebox (I don't have a '92). Jumper it with a paper clip & watch the engine & D4 lights flashing.
Long = 10
Short = 1
so.... long short short is code 12. Get it?
Post back when you read the code, but remember it DOES matter which light is flashing (maybe both with different codes).

There are a variety of causes for that to happen. Here is the chart from the Service Manual detailing the causes. This is from the 1991 model, but applies to the 1992 and 1993 model years as well. The S indicator in the 1991 is the equivilant to the D4 in the 1992 and later years.

i did the jumper method. the check engine light stayed on, but the "D4" light blinked 7 times. it stopped, then did 7 again. so i guess the code is 7. can anyone translate the code for me?
