Which had the 4.40 gears and which the 4.70? This was posted on another thread but I'm pretty sure mine is JDM. It is supposed to be a 98 type r and is stamped "J4D LSD". Can anyone confirm?
[4.4 fd usdm itr transmission has J4D lsd stamp (i'm not sure of the 96-97 jdm itr spec)
4.7 jdm itr transmission has N3E lsd stamp]

Well my friend this has been covered about 9,000 times...but since i just finished my 2nd exam for the day and i am feeling much better...i'll be nice and break it down for j00:
All USDM ITR trannys = 4.40 FD (Stamped on the casing you will read J4D LSD)
96&97 JDM spec = 4.40 FD (Stamped on the casing you will read J4D LSD)
98+ JDM spec = 4.785 FD (Stamped on the casing you will read N3E LSD)
now....this was a freebie, next time please search the FAQ sticky at the top of the page
