well i have suspension nothing like intense just omni sport coilovers no sway bars or anythign else and my stock cx single cam i also have 4.114 sus. so i have rear brakes, but all my friends have motor and suspension as well do you think i will have fun or just get in there way? i want to go just cause it will be a good learning expierence and see what my suspension is capable of before i get a motor and push it over its boundries

would you go out?

ok im going to button willow raceway in 2 weeks, but all i have done to my car is coilovers and rear disc brakes, so i will be VERY slow, all my friends ahve motors and the same suspension set up i have but with sway bars and other things... now my question is is it even worth going out there? cause im just gonna get in the way of other people

 

No, you should go out there to learn and have a good time. It doesnt matter what your car is or how fast it is compared to your friends' cars. Read the links in the FAQ, have a good time, be safe and listen to your instructors.

I've tracked a hyundai, you cant be slower than I was. You'll have a blast, as I've found open lapping to be one of the most enjoyable things in life.

But yes as long as the car is safe adn you listen to your instructor, you will have a great time. I know I did the very first time I was on a track.

Bout four year ago took my Supecharged DC (r.i.p) to willow springs . . .coilovers, roll bar, sway bar yada yada yada . . . . got smoked by Mike Davis from TRS in his SOHC EG with koni's and springs!

I took my GEO into the track during lunch, Lets just say when you see a GEO coming down Magic mounten at 60MPH just move out of the way.
You will do fine dont realy on power try to learn the track, falow the slow but experinced drivers not the fast out of control ones.

You don't need to be fast to have fun. I had a lot of fun doing point-byes all the way down the straights and then driving up people's asses in the turns In fact, I'd like to go even slower . . . anyone want to trade me their ITC Civic STD for my CRX Si? Momentum cars are great learning tools.

 

There was a Toyota Echo w/ a young women blasting around Summit Point at one of the later Summit Point HPDE's.

I think you'll do just fine. Leave your ego at the door, keep a clear head and listen to what your instructor is saying. Have fun.
