A friend of mine just gave me a OEM GSR valve cover. I wanted it for the cam gear adjustment so I don't hack up a true ITR valve cover... But rather than a "half moon" or just cutting the very end portion off, He has cut the whole end section off that covers the top of his timing belt..... Should I use it or find me one that has not been cut or has a half moon.... Dont know if there could be a potential problem or not if I were to use it..... I don't really feel comfortable with the idea of having an exposed timing belt..... Comments and thoughts are welcome. Just dont flame me please... I turn to you guys outta trust and reliability.

Simple, install it for tuning purposes and then put your stock (uncut) valve cover on after you're done.

If you are using it for cam tuning it is fine, I've seen people actually drive with vavle covers that have been hacked like that with no problems.
IMO, you should get to the shop, then swap covers and swap back when you're done

When I got my cam gears installed I had the shop cut my valve cover to show the gears. Not only for tuning when I get Hondata but also so I can "rice on" with my bad self.
I've had no problems but if you live in a cold/salty environment the cam gear bolts will oxidize.

Here are a couple of pics. The cover was cut and the top peice of the timing belt cover was removed. You'll also notice the oxidized bolts, which so far has been the only downfall but they should clean up well once I get around to it. BLING ON

There are a couple of companies that sell pre-cut moon shaped valve covers or you can just use a hole saw with the appropiate size bit.
