empty when its on 1/4 tank?????
i had the same thing happen not long ago. i think it might have something to do with if your parked on an incline or something. thats what it was in my case. i was baffled as well. i thought something was wrong with the car so i asked my dad. he could hear it trying to start and everything, and said he'd put money on its just out of gas. so we went to the gas station and put filled up a can, and it cranked first try. i drive my car like a grandpa so i always figure around 350 miles to one tank in the city. never get it above 3k rpm unless im in 5th gear. and my dad told me the best knowledge ANYONE can have about cars that day. "cars run better with gas in them."
I got an EG8 when I turn to the right for a prolonged curve the needle can drop 2 the red marker but usually levels out after a while. I wondered myself if there was a way to fix it because im never sure when ill run out
this is a know problem with civics, at least eg's. Sometimes its because your car is dropped but mostly just because its a honda. Search and you will see at least ten threads on this
check the float.
Remove the rear seats, unscrew the acess panel, then remove the float and try to move the lever up and down while the key is in ON position. See if your gas gauge will move as you move the lever. Could be a defective float.
One thing is if your gas tank has a dent and hitting the float so your float is in 1/4 position and will stop moving down due to the fat that is is sitting on a hump from a bump.
