Friggin clutch engaugement?!?! (Searched)
I have a 91 Crx Si with a first gen B16 with a S1 tranny and I have an Exedy stage one clutch on it. I have been messing around with this friggin adjustment for the past couple days, its really starting to **** me off.
As of right now, the clutch engauges with the pedal about a half an inch off the floor, maybe an inch...maybe. The lever on the tranny has about 2mm of free play in it it feels like. (The closer the throwout bearing to the pressure plate the later or further off the floor the engaugement of the clutch would be? Correct?) I know the throwout bearing is not supposed to ride the pressure plate. I also know you are supposed to have about a half inch of play on the top of the clutch pedal.
I was driving around tonight and I could tell the clutch was gettin hot cuz it was gettin harder and harder to put in first and change gears. I went to put in reverse at a stop light and it grinded like a bitch.
I need more play at the bottom of the pedal (when pedal is on floor) before the clutch engauges. I think it grabs way to soon....needs to grab a lil later off the floor.
It seems like I have tried everything...I have messed with the actual clutch pedal hieght, I have tightend and losend the adjuster on the tranny. I have no clue on what could be causing this. Seems like there is not enough pedal throw...I dunno.
Any ideas? Is the pressure plate something to blame for this? Doesnt the pressure plate have a say on when the clutch engauges and disengauges?
Sorry for being so long, but I tried to be as clear and informative as possible cuz I have no idea on what to do. I searched but that didnt help me any.
Thanks for anything.

Make sure you are pulling up on it when you are trying to do this. You have to pull the adjuster **** out of the rubber locking part to get it to actually tighten. Probably start off with a good 5-6 full turns and then check out engagemenet point.

It is obvious that your clutch isn't ****** adjusted correctly. Go adjust it correctly and it will fix your problem.
Also make sure your clutch cable is secured down tightly so it doesn't flex when you press the pedal.

I figured out my problem, I didnt have enough play in the actual pedal itself. Just for ***** and giggles I brought the actual pedal "up" more just for something to try since "turning the **** clockwise so my throwout bearing rides my pressure plate and ***** out on me later on down the road wasnt an option in my head cuz the throwout beaing is not supposed to ride the pressure plate" and it worked.
So the problem was in my pedal play not having enough travel. My TO bearing isnt riding the pressure either.

i have the same problem with my exedy. it was smooth as butta for about half an hour and then i couldn't put it into gear. i thightened it up but i think its now agains the PP and hard as hell to push in. so all i need to do is adjust the travel? how do i do that?
