Default Pin striping removal

Has anyone ever removed the pinstriping on their car? After my accident, it will be pointless for me to have my pinstriping because one fender will have hte pin striping and the rest of the car will, and honda will probably charge me like 150-300 to put new pinstriping on however i did hear that this is a painstaking and time consuming task, but can anyone tell me how to get the stuff off?

Go to Home Depot, buy a spray can of "Goof Off." This stuff works wonders. It will also help to use a hair dryer, and then simply just peel it off.

The Goof Off is great for removing any kind of adhesive... I used it to remove my emblems and pinstriping.

Definitely hit it with a new coat of wax after you remove the pinstriping

If you want it re pinstriped i am sure that somewhere on the internet sells pinstripping. When I cleaned cars at Honda we would pinstripe the cars and they would charge $200 for it. A roll of it cost $7 and usually did like 15 cars.
To make removal easier use a heat gun(hair dryer) it will peel right off.

BTW... Its not painted on is it?

At the dealership I worked at, the pinstriper didn't use rolls or anything like that... He used a brush and painted them on by hand. It looked a hell of a lot better than the stick on ones... Anyway, I only bring it up because if yours is painted on too, it's not going to come off that easily.

EDIT: just noticed lude975's last question...

All you need is a heatgun to help the removal but don't heat the paint too much cause it can bubble the clear. Then use goof off to take the left over glue off.

Yes, use the heat gun but be careful not to leave it in one spot too much.

It is very time consuming but looks alot better when its done!

I used a heat gun on the low setting. It came right off by peeling it with my fingernails with the help of a heat gun. Like the above post states, hit it with a good coat of wax after removal. IMO the Accord looks much better without the pin stripe!
