stock GSR shocks
my friend is selling his 96 GSR (actually a GSR with an LS engine) and he is gonna trade me his ground control coilovers for my stock springs. He wants to just change the whole shock/coilover onto my car instead of changing the springs only. He has stock shocks.
My question is that his stock shocks have 95,000miles and has been lowered for a while (im guessing less then 2 years). My stock shocks have 130,000 miles on them but have never been lowered.
Should i just take his whole complete shock/coilover swap or try and just take his springs and use my own shocks i have right now?
Im a college student so i cant afford aftermarket shocks for now

try and see if you can get him to just take your springs...if not then just trade staight up and keep your eye on the classifieds...im sure you can find a cheap set of shocks for down the road. The stock ones should last you alittle while

yeah good advice, those shocks are eventually going to blow anyways, stock shocks never really go to well with more than a 1.25 drop or so.... keep an eye on them and check for some deals...

Shocks at 130k miles won't perform and will blow quick on a lowered car. Plus you don't ever wanna bother putting stock springs back into the shock assembley, major pain in the ***
. Just take em with the shocks he has on the coilovers.

don't worry about lowering my friend. leave the springs stock and just get aftermarket shocks. nice stiff ride, goes over bumps like a champ, and save for adjustables. adjustable suspension =
