Default Do i need to get spring rates for daily driving? ( yes Searched)

i was planning on getting kyb agx with eibach sportline for a while now, but i've been researching a lot. this is going to be on a 92 prelude S and it's only for daily driving, no auto x, no tracks. you can only get custom spring rates on gc's and onimpower's correct? well would agx/eibach be a good street set up or should i get spring rates?

Sportlines may be a tad low/aggressive for a daily driver - but it really depends on your roads & tastes. I'm sure there are many people who drive on a comparable drop every day with no complaints.

The bigger issue, though, is pairing KYB AGX's with those springs. They may be alright for a short while, but the AGX's are only recommended for up to a 1.5" drop and 50% increase in spring rate. Sportlines exceed both those categories, I believe.

Something like Eibach/Neuspeed/H&R sports pair very well with AGX's, though. Still plenty of clearance for 99% of daily driving, and a firmer yet still comfortable ride as well.

i would go with the ground controls, and i would go with the custom rates. something along the lines of 225F/200R depending on what you want to set the car to do.

I had AGX's on my Sportlines for about 6 months. I know the the drop is too much for the shocks but I don't know about the rates. Eibach won't give them to you and when I calculated it out I found that they use a stiffer material than the industry standard. The only problem that I had with the combo was that the shock wasn't stiff enough for some of the steps in pavment. This sent my upper are into the shock tower. If your going with the AGXs then I'd use a taller/ spfter spring.

What struts can handle the sportlines then, because i like the sportlines drop. i choose ax's because it's a good price, but yeah what struts are recommened?

order from ground control direct with any rate ERS spring you want.

as far as shock choices, it seems to me that you'll pick a spring rate that most aftermarket shocks can handle. however, it's important to not lower the car too much and not have enough shock travel. riding on the bumpstops will mess up any mild handling effect you wanted by ordering softer springs from GC.

Don't bother getting the GC's if you want that kind of spring rate. Get the Tanabe GF210's.

i had the sportlines at 1.8 and it was a minimal lowering of height, i still had plenty of clearence for driving and the springrate was still pretty comfertable.

If you're getting Illuminas, I'd suggest going with slightly stiffer rates because 1) the shocks can handle more and 2) 225/200 isn't that much stiffer than stock (hard to say what stock is since they are progressive springs, but from research I think its ~ F220/R180). I got GCs with Konis shocks, my rates are F450/R400 with the shocks set on the near softest setting the ride was not that much harsher than stock at all. Now if I turned them up to near full stiff then it was STIFF, but near full soft they are very managable. Taken that i like rougher rides, Im sure you can get something like a F300/R270 rate and still have it very managable. I'd also reccomend GCs over Eibachs because 1) you can change your rates in the future to suit your needs 2) they actually are made by eibach 3) height adjustment is a nice feature if you live where there is alot of snow to raise it, or if you want to lower it for a track event. Just my $.02.

raising your car up and down constinley changes your toe doesnt it? or changes your tire wear every time at different spots. Ill keep in mind about Gc's. I just ordered some illumina's and getting gc's are too deep for my pockets right now, thats why i was thinking about springs. So they make springs at a stiffer rate? Thanks all for your patience and answering all my questions.
