CRX or 94 SI coupe
i'm not sure which car to modify and wanted to know opinions of your guys out there. would i be better off modifying a crx or a 94 civic si coupe ? the crx already has a b16 and the civic has a d16z6
Gotta first ask yourself how much money are you expecting to put into this car. If you're going all out, I'd say go with the rex, it's lighter. If you want something that's fun to drive and that you are going to modify slowly, I'd say go with the Si. I have a 94 Si HB, and I LOVE it! You need to talk to the owners instead of us - setup test drives and you'll be able to make your decision.

The EJ1 was given the "Si" trim level designation in Canada.

Learn something new everyday. Japan and Canada have the good cars. We suck.

yeah i guess so but i heard that canadas hondas were a step under ours in performance like thiere eg si ar like our dx::: hum dunno anyone??? pluz i think the thread starter didnt know about the si canada thing! either!
1st which ever not rusted
But if both are in good shape go with the CRX if you want a lot go and potential for cheap. If a smoother ride and more space is what you want then get the coupe. For some reason CRX seem to ride ruff probably because of the short wheel base. If the crx is a Si the wiring isnt to bad. Would just need vtec wiring for b16 swap. I like the extra space of a coupe since I use my car for carrying laundry, grocerys and with a kid a back seat is nice.

ive been knee deep in both those generations and models with swaps and both are very rewarding if you do everything right.
each car has its pros and cons and this board may never agree on witch car is better for you but assuming that you are new to this hobby i would recommend the 5th gen (coupe) over the 4th gen crx.
the crx is great little car to haul around in and clean ones are rare finds but it is hardly practical if you want it for a daily driver, the engine bay is quite a bit smaller (larger swaps may require pounding the frame) and you are stuck with non obd wiring, witch means you must either use a 1st gen b series motor (at least 13 years old and probably high milage despite what most jdm importers may say, motors that old are going to need a few new parts). there are certainly more options such as converting to obd1 but most are costly and wiring can get quite difficult especially if the crx is not an si or hf. even once you have a b series you must then purchase mounts and shift linkages to make everything else work. im sorry 4th gen owners, i dont like em.
now 5th gens are cake when it comes to swaps, the SI is going to come already fully wired for a vtec motor, there are only a few extra wires you need to run in order to get a doch vtec motor running in a 5th gen depending on the swap. mounts are easy, just use the stock integra mounts and your good. 5th gens have plenty of room in the bay for the larger swaps and no frame pounding or cutting is required. my favorite part is that as long as im running an obd1 ecu i can plug in any obd1 or obd2 motor with out any problems.
crx=rare car, not the most entry level car to work on, two seater
5th gen coupe= more entry level, easy to work on, and swaps are more readily available for this cahh.
