Odd electrical starting issue...'91 LX 1.5...please help
Ok so my brother has a 1991 Civic LX with the 1.5 5-speed. He installed a remote start and keyless entry a few months ago and has had no problems since.
However today after the car ran with the remote start, he turned it off with the remote, then got in the vehicle and attempted to start again, but only got clicking. He got it jumped, stilll didnt start, got a push down the street, and bingo it started. But once its turned off, it wont start again. So he came home, bought a starter, threw it in and now nothing happens, when turning the key to start, the fuel pump turns on, the lights on the dash light up along with the signal arrows but no click or crank.
Anyone have any idea to where to go from here? We tested the starter at his work, and its fine, the start is getting power for both feeds so thats not the issue...
Any questions or anything that could help with a recommendation, please let me know.
TIA,
Dan

One of my CRXs is currently doing this....My battery was extremely dead and my grounds were kind of iffy....
I'd put another ground from the motor to the body of the car...it wont hurt.
good luck and hopefully someone else can help with this so i get an idea of whats up with mine also

it happend to me too i just took the neg fron batt an grounded it to the engine.
think that chassy grounds engine more like engine gives neg power to chassie, so there no point of doin that ground twice..i dunno if i make sense to yah)

I have seen the body to engine grounds go bad, seems like everything would die, dash lights, and all if that were the issue. I think it may be a poor connection in the starter relay wire. That is one of the wires tapped into for the remote start.
