Default gsr on nitrous ???"s

i plan on getting a dry nitrous setup for my otherwise stock gsr. its just my daily driver and i wanted to have a bit of fun if need be. im only gonna run at most a 50 shot on it to keep it safe. my question is though when i do use it especially at the track what would be the best gear/time to use it? i dont think it would be that practical to use it off the line with wheel sping and risking hitting the limiter. what do you guys think? tia

In my experiences...I launched around 4500 on street tires, slammed into 2nd at 8200. As soon as the RPM's started to climb in 2nd, I hit it right as it had traction. I held it thru 4'th, ofcourse, not spraying while shifting. I managed to beat a couple fast cars, so you should definetly feel a major improvement. Good luck, and take a little bit of fuel out if you can, or retard the timing a couple degree's!

I have a botton on my shifter that fires the nitrous when I hold it down. I launch low at like 32-3600rpms and as soon as I start to catch traction I spray. This caries me through the vtec cross over.

I went from 9.8 to 9.0 in the 1/8th on azenies on a otherwise stock car with a short ram and cat back and 147000k on the odo.

Thats what I did when I sprayed. Except I just hit the toggle when i caught traction.

the shifter button is pretty sweet though. I useda carbonfiber looking shifter from the local autoparts store and drilled a hole in it to mount a button from radioshack. looks a bit ricy but still cool.

99gsr motor, 93si hatch, 90 shot, 1.61 60 foot. 11.73@114 on M&Hs

if youre running steert tires, just like evryone else said, wait till you get traction.

i prefer the WOT switch, its more accurate than the button.

also when $$$ permits, ditch the dry and get a wet kit

if u dont have slicks then i wouldnt spray in 1st. (spray in all others)
and dont take it past 8000rpms on a stock valvetrain, thats how i fried my intake valves.

i spray in first on azenis without traction problems, just not off the line. but my motor is old and that maybe the reason i can get away with this. but i too would not suggest spraying past 8000

as soon as you can. i would quit spraying about 2-300rpm before redline. A window switch helps a lot. like i said i spray as soon as i START to catc traction. the sooner the nitrous flows the faster your gonna get to the end of the track. my fastest times i actually spun more than normall and thought i made a bad pass. then i got my slip and found out otherwise.

I am totally bone stock internals with ZEX 75 shots hittin low 12's....you have to retard the timing according to how much you are squeezing!

dry wet direct port . although im not for nitrous, im more an all motor or forced induction kinda guy. but for spraying i would wait until u slam second and catch traction and then spray away

nitrous is forced induction. do you give this opinion out of experience or are you just regurgitating what someone else said.

nitrous is a cheap way to go.. squeezing 75 shot dry is safe for a gsr.. get it tuned correctly and have a fuel pump upgrade!

the best time to use it is 2nd gear on!
