is Zex wet or dry?
what do we think as far as performance or wear and tear?
i don't like abused nitrous systems, but if used properly and maintained properly the ZEX kit is a cheap way to have instant power

Dry; with jets available for a 55 to 75 shot. Some colder plugs, a good ignition (to retard timing at TDC about 2 degrees) a FPR, and dont get spray happy and it should be ok.

Check this out: This is a copy and paste from the FAQ at http://www.zex.com

"How much does it cost to ship the ZEX™ N2O kit?
It depends on the shipping distance and option selected. Using UPS Ground to the furthest continental U.S. destination would be around $20. Shipping costs are calculated instantly and you will see an itemized list of products with the shipping charge before any order commitment on your part. There are at least 4 UPS shipping options for most destinations. Other shipping carriers are available if you place your order by phone at 1-888-817-1008.

Will the ZEX™ N2O kit work on my car?
Our nitrous kit is very universal by design. It works on most late model, direct port fuel injection kits.
ZEX™ Nitrous Compatibility Checklist

Engine must have a vacuum ported fuel pressure regulator
Throttle position sensor voltage must pass the following test:
Locate the T.P.S. (usually directly across from throttle linkage)
Turn ignition to on position (do not start engine)
Using a digital voltmeter, check each wire for a low voltage reading of approximately 1 volt.
Only one wire should have this low voltage with the throttle closed
While on that same wire, open the throttle completely and check the voltage reading
If your voltage reads 4.2 volts or higher, you are ready to install your ZEX nitrous kit

How much time can I expect installation to take?
A person familiar with common hand tools should be able to complete the installation in three to four hours. If you can get out of bed by 8, it should be in before lunchtime.

Where can I get the nitrous bottle filled?
Quality speed shops will be able to fill the bottle. Alternatively, most welding gas suppliers can fill the bottles.

Will your kit work on my car if it does not have a vacuum operated fuel pressure regulator?
No, our nitrous kit is not compatible in your application due to the absence of a vacuum ported fuel pressure regulator. The required fuel enrichment comes by way of this style of fuel pressure regulator.

My car has high mileage, is it safe to run nitrous on it?
High mileage is not necessarily an indicator of a car's mechanical condition. The better mechanical condition your car is in, the safer it is to use any high performance product. If you are not sure on the condition of your vehicle, take it to a qualified mechanic in your area for a complete inspection.

How much horsepower does the ZEX™ kit add?
The ZEX™ kit is adjustable in three horsepower increments. Jets are provided that will give anywhere from 55hp to 125hp, depending on which kit you purchase.

Do I need to upgrade my fuel kit to use your kit?
Our kit was designed and tested for use with stock fuel kits. It will perform properly on stock and mildly modified engines, i.e. header, K&N filter, exhaust, etc. If major modifications have been performed, i.e. camshafts, heads, porting work, intake manifolds, etc. It is strongly recommended that a fuel pump and injector upgrade be performed on your engine before using your ZEX nitrous kit.

Do I need to use different spark plugs when using the ZEX nitrous kit?
It is highly recommended that you install non-projected nose style spark plugs that are 2 heat ranges cooler than stock plugs. For best results, use our Hyperformance™ triple electrode spark plugs. These spark plugs were designed specifically for nitrous, turbo, and supercharged applications.

How long will one bottle of nitrous last?
This totally depends on which jetting is used. The 55hp shot will last around 3 minutes of continuous use. The 125hp shot will last just under 1.5 minutes of continuous use. Generally, since each race lasts less than fifteen seconds, many races can be run from a single bottle.

What makes your ZEX™ kit better than other brands?
Our kit is self regulating and adjusts fuel pressure according to bottle pressure.

It is TPS activated, which means no throttle switch brackets to rig up.

The control box houses the solenoid for a cleaner installation.

We include a one year warranty on our Zex kits.

The convenience of toll-free support.
Finally, we are confident that our kit is the easiest on the market to install."

All three of those things are there for the safety of you engine and prevention of the engine blowing up. Do what zex says and I promise you will have no problems.

a fuel pressure regulator is not needed here, and will not really help you or make it safer in any way.

The colder plugs are HIGHLY recommended

if you just run 55 or 65 you will NOT need to adjust your timing, just run premium gas...75 I would recommend retarding the timing, or using race gas

What about 93 octane w/ a 7+ Octane Booster? You'd be running at about 100, that good enough?

hey guys i'm new here..anyway i've got a 00 lx with a zex nitrous system. it run perfectly and adds quite a bit of power, i've had if for 2 years now and never had anything go wrong. if your going to go with nitro i strongly recommend using zex especially for the accord. it has less parts and is less expsensive than the NOS system. that's my .02

late

I would get a Nitrous Express (NX) Kit. It's a little more advanced, but it's a through and through better system then the Zex, unless you are a newbie when it comes to using nitrous.

Just my .02 b/c most people that get the Zex, end up upgrading to a better system, you are one of the few who has actually kept the system (2 years).

Zex is a great kit for a n2o beginner. Like other people have said, most people I know that start with Zex, want something a little more advanced so they go with the NX wet kit. As far as blowing you engine up, make sure you get it tuned properly and you will be fine.
