First off grammer is your friend, helps people follow your train of thought.

Second what gear box on top of the transmission? Do you mean the shift/select mechanism and forks?

The accord shifts by cables as you mentioned, there is no adjustment really to go out of whack. What I mean is the H style shifting pattern is the select/shift on the transmission itself (disconnect the cables and you can move the stick any which way), in my experience there is no fine tune adjustment that would keep it from shifting. If it won't shift its either the transmission, or the clutch isn't disengaging (bad master/slave cylinder, bent fork, or air in the lines).

Good luck, hope that helps.

P.S. There's really no need to get new transmissions. I fixed mine so I could go in reverse again simply by grinding my knurled 5th gear smooth with a dremel tool. Worst case scenario you buy a new gear not a new tranmission.
