how do you clean air filter thats not a K&n?

Well it's not going to be both cotton and paper. If it's oiled cotton gauze media, you can clean it. Paper you cannot.

I have an old cone filter. It was by a company called RS Akimoto. I just got a K&N cleaner kit, followed there instructions and it has worked as good as new, just make sure you clean it from the inside out, and use a good amount of oil.

haha RS Akimoto, probably the first aftermarket intake made for a Honda.
Don't use too much oil, as it wil get sucked into the intake manifold and make all kinds of mess in there.

how much is a many-years old used Akimoto filter worth? Nothing (unless somebody was just REALLY nostalgic and really trying to go out of his way to acquire old aftermarket parts). Just buy a new K&N universal filter for your intake.
