can i use a stock d15b7 throttle body on a 1st gen b16a intake manifold

 

I believe they are interchangeable as long as they abide by obd's .... becuase the obd-1 throttlebody has the map sensor integrated into it . I know the B16a OBD-I throttle body will bolt upto a d16z6 manifold (OBD-I)

 

I am not sure if this helps, but when I swapped my im to a skunk2, I had to use a d16 tb gasket to fit right. To me that would suggest that the im's would be different, but I can't say for sure. I only say this because I had some vacuum isssues after the swap until I changed the gasket to a d16 one. This probably doesn;t help, but maybe someone else can elaborate.

well im gonna get a skunk2 manifold but i need to convert the 1st gen b16 to obd-1. my block doesnt have an intake manifold on it. But im trying to save some money cause tb are expensive. so i was thinking i can use the stock d series one?

 

also can use my d15b7 injectors on the 1st gen b16 with a skunk manifold

 

I ran a D16Z6 TB on my B16 until I got a new B16 TB, so it should work.

 

Anybody know the size difference in the d series to b series throttle body? Just wanna know if it is a worthy upgrade maybe a junkyard DIY project for me.
