Default B16 trouble after driving hard..TPS, 02 sensor, and bent valves?! Patience is a virtue.

I have searched for 2 days now and haven't found a topic similar to mine yet so here goes...

*To make a long story short I ran my 00 Civic Si HARD the other day for about 40 mins. or so, rev matching, hard shifts and took it to redline on every gear, but NEVER over redline and NO MISSHIFTS.

*Next day my CEL comes on and I had a bad idle. Pulled the codes, a P0122 and a P0141,codes for the TPS and secondary 02.

*Well I found that the TPS had broken loose and the 02 sensor wiring had become near severed by my shift linkage.

*Got a new secondary sensor and tied up the TPS for a little while. Went for a test drive and the CEL comes on again, this time the code is for the primary 02 sensor.

*Car would not go over 4400 rpms. Did I bend my valves during the hard driving?? Car really runs terrible right now.

*BTW stock internals, just I/H/E. I will be going in for a compression test tomorrow, but in the mean time I need some quick answers so I can rest a little bit easier tonight...

Also, anyone with similar experiences..What was the out come for you?

*Is it even possible to bend valves without over revving, misshifting etc?

*How do auto x'ers and road racers/draggers manage to avoid this everytime they beat on their motors?

Did you use the right 02 sensor?

Hopefully if you figure out your sensor problem then your car will run better.

Hmm, Thanks for the help, but I am more worried about my valves than anything at this moment. I just want to know if it is possible to bend valves just from driving hard, no misshifts, no revs over 8k. Goodluck to you and hope you get your problem worked out

I dont think its possible to mess up your internals by driving "hard" unless its been forever since you changed your oil or you overheated.

No overheating, and I use mobil 1 syn, always check fluids and brake pads before I drive hard, but I still have an uneasy feeling about this whole thing

hey did you ever get your problem fixed? I had almost the same problem. Did you reset the ECU after you did any of the work? to reset the ECU pull the fuse for 10 min then plug it back in and see if that takes care of anything.

you only have to pull your BACK UP fuse in the fuse box under the engine bay for about 30 secs and then just put it back in

Did you replace the O2 sensor? The primary one that it says is messed up? Please tell me this is not another thread about wondering why the ailing engine won't run hard? Fix the problems first.

Thanks, I will fool around with the primary sensor today and see what's going on. I will also try the ecu trick and if none of this helps I will go for a compression test
