metal shavings on valves
ok i used ezout drill bits on my valve cover bolts because the bolts snapped and i had to get them off somehow. so when i did that i got some metal shavings under the valve cover and i saw some on a valve spring. so what i did was got a q-tip and cleaned what i saw.. are metal shavings potentially dangerous? they are very very small and feel like soft wood shavings, they arent all hard or anything. would this ruin my head or anything. any help is appreciated. thanks
Ummmm, they could make their way down the oil passages and through the pump and everywhere else in the motor, not quite sure what they might damage though. I'd say theres a possibility for damage, but not sure how much.
if any are left they could block oil passages or get in between the pistons and the clylinder wall and scratch it to hell and back.
or could fall to the bottom and stay there and never hurt a thing.
