weird belt noise
so i just recently got my car, and i havent had time to do much to it. but i have noticed, it sounds like the alternator belt is slipping at random rpms. more when i get on the gas. but it goes away. today i was driving down the interstate, and when i exited and slowed down, it sounded like i had added a supercharger to my car. i.e. loud belt whine. i got out and looked at the belt, it felt snug, and didnt look to be worn. what should i do?
You should take 2 minutes and tighten your alternator belt. IN the time it took you to write this post you could have solved your problem and not been on here bitching about it.
33 lb-ft.
Did you try tightening your alternator belt? Usually its hard to tell by hand that the belt is not tight enough therefore causing it to squeel. I'd loosen it and try tightening up the belt/alternator as much as you can.
