Leather Seats for the 5th Gen
I desperately want leather seats in my 5th gen. I'm thinking that the easiest and cheapest method of going about this is to wrap my stocks in leather. Has anyone done this? And how much did it cost? I know a guy w/ an eclipse who bought leather and installed it himself, but he said it was a PITA to do on his own. I'm thinking about getting it done professionally. Anyone have some input? Btw, im in the NW area is anyone has some leather seats they have for sale or trade. Thanks!
It's doable but it is a pain. It's probably easier and cheaper to find a set that's for sale, check ebay. I installed the kit and it took about a weekend to do it. If you want an installer to put it in, you're looking at a few hundred dollars on top of the cost of the kit at least.
Yeah that's what I figured. Just curious, but what name brand was your kit and how much was it? Was the installation pretty straight forward, or was there specific tools that were required.
there was a kit on ebay for 400 bucks and it was the kit used by the honda dealers it was black and white i think looked very nice but little bit too much for me

What color is your car? If you have Red or Black, I have some 2 tone leather seats that would look pretty good. They'd probably look good in EBP as well. They Black with Red in the middle and has Prelude stiched in the seats. I have a set of Leather seats up for sale. If you're interested, just email me at romanticpimp@hotmail.com or IM me

The kit I got was the E&G kit. It's the same one that's listed on ebay but all black. It wasn't hard, just time consuming but one thing that sucks is that you have to remove the rear trunk lining that's on the back of the rear seat and sow it on the leather because they don't come with that piece.
At least I got to install seat heaters while the covers were off though!
p.s. If you decide to install it yourself, you're going to need some hog rings and hog ring plyers. I've heard of people using zip ties but I don't know how they could have.
