Help with taillights

Default Help with taillights

Well when i got the car it had the stock taillights painted all red.

I have tried goof off and it just hazes, how would i go about sanding these down what grit...process?

Hmm... hit them with a solvent to remove the paint. Maybe acetone.
That might melt the plastic so wipe fast. Try in a small area or on an old light first to see what the solvent does to the plastic.
Or skip that and go for the sanding. It would be easier to sand without the paint clogging it up the sand paper.

Then sand them with 500 or 1000 in one direction.
Then sand with 1500 in the opposite direction until you can no longer see your sand marks from the previous grit.

Wash them and wipe them down. Spray them with a few coats of clear and you're done!

thanks but i would rahter have a chemical do my drity work

if you are thinking about using acetone, seriouesly test it out in inconspicous spot first. Acetone usually melts plastics.

just looking for ideas now, anything else that would take it off?

you could try buffing it off that or pick up a cheap set of stocks off of ebay or some one here
