Did you guys replace the nut that goes on the end of the counter shaft? I called Mike K and they do not have it and neither do any of the shops down here in south florida. Also did you guys also replace the nuts that go on the end of the drive shafts that hold the hubs on?

Yes i replaced the nut, but if you can just get a fresh part of the nut to be staked down, then it should be fine. Kind of like re-using an axle nut. No problem really.

And those other nuts? No, I didn't replace mine - not really necessary. If you're referring to the axle nuts like I mentioned above, then just tighten them down so that the part that was previously hammered is not staked down a second time.

Kewl, that is what I'll end up doing.

I would if i could, I like replacing all wear parts, not worth the brain damange of worring about it. But nobody has them in stock and I'm doing the FD on Saturday.

Unless somebody has some that can be shipped 2nd day to south florida, i'll just reuse the old ones.

I didn't replace the pinion nut or the axle nuts, but I wish I had. I'll replace the axle nuts this weekend, but pinioin nut... oh well. I staked it on another part. It was just a little hard to get back on because it had been punched in. *shrugs* Oh well.

there is no need to pull the driveshafts out of the hubs.
