Default Anyone using Rocket M22s on PCTs???

My friend is building an LS/VTEC with .25 PCTs and was wondering if the Rocket M22 camshafts will work in conjuction with these high Domed pistons......

The head (PR3) will have either TODA Dual springs and OEM Retainers or might just go with Rocket valvetrain.... Valves, however, will stay OEM....

So, can anyone tell us, if this is safe to use??? Looking for 190s whp in 1.8 litre, not sure if 200 whp is attainable....

I'd like to know as well.

I'm running a B17a with PCT pistons and Supertech valvetrain.

i hear they are compared to JUN 3's as far as cam profiles go, and people run those with CTRs all the time, so you'd probably be ok.

very nice cams, can't wait til i get a set

76 USED to sell 100 octane. They got out of the Race gas business a few years ago. The guys that ran the program for 76 opened Rockett Brand racing fuel.

Some 76 stations still sell 100 octane. That stuff is actually VP MS100.

OMG guys,

i am a good friend of vteckidd, and i can vouch for the sickness of these cams.

i did the tuning, i did the installation, and i did the valve adjustments, and cam gear adjustments....

the head on his engine is a stock b16 first gen head. i can almost guarantee that with a ITR head, or even a 2nd gen b16 head, his #'s would jump.

now, since someone said something about tuning, i have tuned quite a few local cars, from 250whp to my lowly b16 coming in at 157whp (it dyno'd on sunday at 150whp) and all i can say is that we got over 20whp on his engine from tuning.

if anyone has any beef's please keep it to pm's. this thread isint about mikes engine, its asking if m22's will hit the pistons...

i think they will be fine as long as your using a b16 head. i used s2 stage2 cams on it and had 2-4 degrees positive i believe on both cam gears

Thats right i took second. THe guy who beat me made his numbers with 1 point higher compression and engine managment and an ITR head. Not taking anything away from him, he put down good numbers, but just showing there are differences between our motors.
I tell all my customers not to take my dyno numbers seriously, the most i have made on a dynojet was 185whp. I am tuning with a VAFC, 1st gen B16 head. all these guys making 190whp + in atlanta have Hondata, Chrome, Uberdata, ITR heads,12.0+compression ,2.0 ,etc. not making excuses , i want higher numbers, but it is what it is. Before ANYONE TALKS **** ABOUT MY MOTOR, find out the information first.

I gained 23 Ft/Lbs of TQ and 21 WHP in the MIDRANGE just by dropping Rockets Camshafts into my car. I gained about 15whp on top end. Theres no doubt his cams make power. why are my numbers low, ill tell you
1) oil consumption problem i have had since DAY ONE of this motor, prob bad valve seals
2) VAFC, ive had to pull 20-30 fuel out, which affects timing , which i have no control over
3) 1st gen head, WORST flowing head honda ever made, STOCK no valvejob, porting, NOTHING, and it shows on my dyno.
4) Ran out of fuel, when i hit vtec , i drop 12psi in pressure (stock DX fuel pump)

Transistor, what motor do you have thats so powerfull? just curious why you can talk **** when i dont even know you and you dont know me. Everyone talks **** about how much their motor makes, when in the end, out here in atlanta its ALL BULLSHIT. there arent TONS of 190-200whp car roaming around like everyone thinks. i see it at every dyno day and every dyno session. Lube i take it is BIGDAWG, yeah i made over 100 dyno puls with my car testing various things out. in the end it was always the same problems, unported head, not enough fuel.
Its really sad how i only make 185whp and im one of the fastest cars in atlanta all motor. i guess a 2200 lb chassis does that for you. If anyone wants to discuss furhter, keep it out of this thread, and PM me.

To the kid that started this thread, sorry for all this , this is stupid, it will go to PMs now. TO answer your question, clay the motor, but you should have enough room if you choose Rocket Motorsports M22s, i highly reccomend them.

Can I get a WOO WOO! Anyway, lube is not BigDawg, as for the M22's only in what I have seen (with my own eyes, in person) I am not too impressed. The idle is sick! However the power is just not there, this maybe due to tuning and fuel, but the power is just not there.

as i said, dont take my motor as "proof" of what they can do. these cams havent gotten an honest shot on my motor due to fuel and tuning issues as i said before. I have never represented my motor as being "the greatest most whp all motor " engine etc. I m happy with it, and the 2.0 motor i have is a much hotter motor that ill have dynoes of shortly wioth m22s and a head that can flow. might i add that with an ITR head and some sort of tuning system i bleive i can hit 200whp. but i guess we'll see

chech out this STOCK BOTTOM END ITR motor

Just to clarify, I was not talking smack about vteckidd's motor. I would be open to doing a cam test as long as someone else foots the bill.
