Redline question

When your RPMS drop from 8000 as your shifting from, lets say 2nd to 3rd. How far are they supposed to drop? Is it possible to drop more RPMs than normal? If so, what does that mean? Thanks!

I think my 2nd to 3rd shift im put at around 6200 -6500 or so. thats if im racing. that sound right?
then again i have an CM clutch and ITR flywheel.
