**TURBO WITH STOCK AUTO B16 CAMS?**
ok....i have a 1st gen b16 that was originally a auto!
its not very fast and since its mated to a LS tranny it is a dog low end! i am going to turbo my motor but i was wondering if i should buy cams first since the 1st gen b16 cams are crap and the auto ones are even worse! i want to buy some skunk2 cams, but would this be a waste? should i stay with the stock cams? since the skunks are about as much as the itr and ctr cams any ways!
ohhh and i have heard that the LS tranny is good for turbo is this true?

Save your money and work with the stock cams and since you already have a LS tranny just keep that. Get some cam gears instead of cams and you can do some tunning and it should help you some....

but i am pretty worried about floating a valve. i got my ecu rechipped cause the normal auto ecu is sooo slow i now have a mugen program that tacks out at 9000 so i have room to work with later when i do upgrade the valve train and cams.....but the stock cams are a good idea? and what turbo do you suggest and how much boost?

Mugen smugen, I would get rid of the ECU because the Mugen has the ignition maps that advance the timing more than stock and thats not good for your motor with turbo. Find a cheap Civic Ex ECU and try buy hondata.

Yeah, definitely watch out with an aftermarket ECU, like Arturbo said advanced timing is a NO NO under boost. Also, keep that LS tranny- GREAT for Turbo. As far as the cams go, I too have the stock B16(Auto) cams in, and are swapping them with a set of 00 GSR's. The top end of those cams suck, even with boost. You don't want to go too aggresive(ITR), but the GSR's will be an inexpensive upgrade (got mine for $90) to the cams you have now.
