Default Stock GSR/b16 CAMS

Is there a difference between a AUTO/MANUAL CAMS or if it even exists. Would I want GSR cams in a b16 head for FI or stick with the b16 "AUTO" cams?

there were no auto GSRs ever made. I have never heard of cams being transmission specific in hondas or any other cars for that matter. Keep your b16s until you get crower or some other billet cams

Thats what I figured until I saw someone post about it. This was for a b16 "AUTO CAM"

there is a difference. b16 auto cams were the least aggressive vtec cams that honda made. either 2nd generation b16a cams or 94+ gsr cams would be a good upgrade. look around & i'm sure you would be able to find a set for about $50.

there is a difference in auto/ manual b16 cams. the auto cams were not as aggressive and the auto valvetrain didn't use dual valve springs. I've heard that ITR cams work pretty well with turbo. there specs are somewhat similar to the crower 63401's which are used for turbo. but between B18/B16 the GSR cams make a little more power.

if you think about the logic, why would honda make diffrent cams for the same motor? jus becuz its an auto or manual. doesnt make any sense to me.

I've heard of auto cams on DSM's but never on honda's. Im wondering why its not on my helms manual for a b17 or is it only on b16's?

jdm b16 motors had slushboxes as an option. none were offered in the US.

So3,
In Japan they did in fact have Auto b18c's

Kp,
because you would want the powerband different. on the Jdm auto b16 they don't rev out to 8000 rpm.

Lsturbo,
thats because the b17 doesnt come auto in the U.S.
