I've read around and needed advice about putting a SI tranny on the DX motor, how do they matchup? Or what is needed to be done to fit it?

 

my guess would be that it would fit.

 

First off, changing from a DX tranny to an Si is a good upgrade. Second, look @ the mainshaft end. Its the shaft on the tranny that will be slide into the clutch/flywheel. If it has 0 grooves after the splines on the very end, its most likely an 88. If it has 1, its an 89 and two are usually 90-91. Look at the end of the old trans and make sure your using the right mainshaft. The 88 trans all have a diff spline count on the mainshaft, whereas 89-91 are the same. You may have to change clutch/flywheel or change the mainshaft. Whichever is more cost-effective for you. - Darrell

ooo si trans on a DX. thats going to be quite a combo. I wonder how the DPFI is going to deal with the short gearing.... I have a DX, and I was going to put the SI trans on it. but I found it easyer to swap the motor. D16z6, obd1, P28, SI trans. That would make a nice street machine.

 

That sounds better, but the only prob in my area is finding it all.

 

yah, your going to find out by searching this websight. pulling the whole motor with trans atached is easyer then the trans alone. install is just as easy. just a heads up.
