H22 swap help [PICS]
My dad and I are doin this swap into my 1997 Acura CL. The H22 is a 2000.
How do we plug these together?

Do we need to just splice this wire into the plug for the air intake bypass solenoid?

As seen in this picture..? (Taken from Sport Compact Car Web)

Are these hoses the same?

What sensor is this and what connects to it?

Any help would be appreciated. No bullshit please. Thanks.

First picture, is there the same # of wires in the harness plug as in the dist. plugs? If so, find male parts of connectors on h22 engine harness, match colors, and assemble.
Last picture, that is the intake air temp sensor, or IAT sensor, check your wire colors off of the acura engine harness and plug those in.
That third pic is the knock sensor, separate wire altogether, runs directly to the ECU. I may be misunderstanding the thought here though.
Fourth picture, if the hose already attached to the engine is the one running off of the dashpot valve (vacuum operated), then yes that is the same hose. It runs from the butterfly plates to the box.

h22apwrd95: Sorry about that picture with the knock sensor. I meant this part here..

OEM_ASSASSIN: You sure I don't need that? I'm tryin to get the swap smog legal through a referee. Is it because 5th gens don't have this?

I don't really know how that would effect smog. I didn't really even think of that because I live in Oregon and don't have to worry about any of that. If you go to 92lude.com they have an online manual with wiring diagrams.
Which Helms manual should I get? Haha I know everybody's thinkin "why the hell don't you already have one.." for a 2000 h22a4. I'm on Helminc.com and I found a 97-99 Service manual and a 97-01 Electrical Troubleshooting manual..
The box in your picture looks like the intake resonator box, not the IAB box. It would probably work if you don't have on on your H22. Also, in your first picture the larger plug looks like the one that goes to the ignition coil, not the distributor. Find some wiring diagrams you'll have no problem figuring it out. Good luck with the project!

The box in the second pic is the vacuum chamber and the solenoid for the iab same part in that other pic. you definatly need the wiring diagram/'s if your wiring it up yourself, I wouldn't even attempt anything until you have that info wich can also be found on HT. Is that a USDM engine w/external coil and what harness are you using?
You might get more help in the swap forum: https://honda-tech.com/zeroforum?id=18
Sorry, I'll be nice.

That's not necessarily why I asked on here, but ok. I've noticed the swap forums don't get as much looks as the Prelude forum does. Thanks everybody. Now, about those wiring diagrams..where can I find them?

Yea, you don't need that thing in the seccond pic if you want your dual intake runners to be open all the time, robbing you of low end torque and power hammer:

Not all of the CL's distributor wires will wire into the Prelude distributor. Four wires will have to go down near the Prelude's crank pulley for the TDC sensor and CKP sensor. The CYL position sensor is mounted in the distributor.
also this pic
Thats the Intake air temp sensor. I got something that could make your life a whole lot easier. I got the whole upper half of an h22 wiring harness minus the injector plugs.
dizzy connector, all that good stuff.

That box in the second pic is not the intake manifold vacuum box, and i'm pretty sure it's not a resonator.
It normally sits over on the far front pass. side of the engine bay on the Prelude. I plugged the vacuum hoses and just unplugged it and threw it away; the car worked fine, no codes were thrown, and I now have more room in my bay.
