Can i replace thermal R&D 2 1/4 piping with kteller 3" SS?
Ok i have a thermal R&D classic 2 1/4 exhaust for a 90-93 integra. I am looking for a cheap alternative of getting a 3" exhaust for my turbo set up. Can i just keep my canister cut the 2 1/4 piping at the joints and get a muffler shop to weld 3" inch piping instead?

you could, but you'd still have that 2 1/4 inlet, that would restrict exhaust flow
what inlet? you mean entering and exiting the canister?couldnt that just be widened i mean even if i dont think it will cause that much of a flow restriction i dunno could some one elaborate
it would be inpossible to widen the inside due to the fact that is is designed to be
21/4 so even if you widened the inlet the actual muffler would still be 2 1/4 though the inside.

you would be better off selling the thermal, and using the cash to fab up your own SS 3" piping (like you already wanted to) and just buying a 3" muffler (whatever brand you want) most likely you will actually make back most of the cash just by selling the thermal.
makes sense i dont know what i was thinking still trying to use the 2 1/4 canister any way thermal sells the same muffler in 3" for like $140 i'll just get that and the ss piping from kteller and have the shop do the rest, thanx peoples for the advice
