Default EG or EK?

I am looking to buy a car to take to the track. I need my Prelude to last as my daily driver.... it is plenty fast so I'm not looking for a drag car. I want to get the SOHC VTEC, but I noticed the EKs didn't come with an Si hatch in Canada. Did they in the US? Also, which years were the EGs available in hatchback SI trim? Will the SOHC VTEC drop in the EK hatchback? Overall, how do the EG and EK compare. Are they equally good in handling or is the EK stiffer. I like the styling of the EG but too many of them have the Honda rust. Should I consider the coupe or stick with the hatchback?

thanks in advance

you can get an ek si which has a b16. the ek ex's have vtec dont know about hatches though, in 92 all egs had vtec but after that the si and vx hatches had them, also the ex had it too, i would personally get an eg si if u want a hatch or an ex if u want a coupe. i love the body style of the eg's and theyre lighter. they both handle the same, so i comes down to personal preferance

No.

All of them. '92-95.

Of course.

The EK shell is stiffer, but that doesn't necessarily mean it handles "better." My EM1 chassis is light-years ahead of my ED9 as far as rigidity is concerned, but the EM1 is a heavy understeering pig in comparison.

The EG is lighter overall and has a shorter wheelbase.

What exactly do you intend to do with the car? Once it is caged (if need be), it won't really matter.

Get whatever is cheaper and isn't rusty.

Ya, the SiR w/ the B16 are nice but out of my price range. I want to learn track skills on a slower car first.

Good Info...

I wanna take the car to track days and beat on it until I learn some good track skills. Then I'll dump a B18 into it.
I also want to use it for trips to be able to cary people in the backseat. My Prelude back seat is useless, I can only fit one person in the back sitting sideways.

As far as rear room is concerned are the hatchbacks and coupes the same?

I assume the EK has more room in the back because it has a longer wheelbase?

If you're looking for an EK hatch with vtec, you could just do a mini-me.

EF lighter than EG lighter than EK lighter than EP. Seems that each new gen just gets heavier.
