Default my second honda, my first hatch, my first attempt for a swap

hey everybody, i just joined honda tech and just got a 90 hatch, its the base model, so four speed and d15, makes for great gas mileage but zero fun. this car isnt my daily driver, that job is held buy a rebuilt dsm. and for a very long time, i reeally wanted to attempt a swap on my on, especially with a hatch.i just wanted to know what every body reccomends, or maybe if theres anyone with an extra motor. i was hoping for something decently powerful, and reliable, maybe a d16a6 or ls (b18a1). any help would be great. thanks folks.

Do mpfi swap before anything..

There are so many swaps available..If you have the money you should go with a b-series..Much stronger then d-series and is a good platform

What are your goals and budget? If your shooting for close 150-200 hp go with a d series turbo. If you want 200- b series turbo. Either way turbo and one of those 2 motor will give you a good amount of power in the small light weight car. Next you need to determine which setup is more feasible and cost right for you.

D series beggs to be T'd. B series beg for internals, then turbo.
130hphp - a good D swap prolly do it for like 600-1400$
140-150hp -B16a swap, prolly more like 2g-3g
150-210hp - T3 on a D series with lots of tuning add 1200$to d swap.
180-250hp - t3 on a B series with tuning add like 2G-3g more to B swap.
200 hp. Bseries C1-C5. like 4gs.
250+hp Internals and bolt ons to C1-C5 add like 1500$ for good material.
SKY'S THE LIMIT.....it all depends on goals buddy.

no one brought up the DOHC ZC.....its relatively cheap, easy for a first swap (i just did mine a week ago) and its ALOT of fun to drive

Just adding something else to the fire
