Default going turbo soon need some adivce/ help

Ok, im going to be going turbo soon on my 94 accord lx 2dr 5speed.

Should i buy a manfiold and turbo, intercooler, and have my friend that owns a shop weld the intercooler pipes , ect.

or should a spend a lot more money and buy a complete turbo kit for my car?

Also what turbo should i run? should a buy a front mount intercooler or use a dsm side mount or a mx6/probe small front mount?

few more questions and your free.

Would i half to do any ecu setting or anything like hondata or such?
i have ruffly 124k on my car should i do any motor work first, the most boost i will run woudl be 6psi.

And would a new stock clutch be fine?

Thanks for listing to me think out load/ ask a bunch of questions.

Idk im just looking to get a few answers

thanks for your time.

i'd personally run a front mount, but either option is fine....with only 6 psi, you could get away with the small mx6/probe intercooler...i would personally go with the larger intercooler though in case you ever want to turn up the boost...as for putting together your own kit, i think that's the best option as well...with the kits, you get pretty generic parts...when you put together your own kit, you get all the parts you want instead of off the shelf run of the mill ****...also, you don't want to be running the fmu or whatever fuel management that the kits come with...you do need to do some ecu work though...either uberdata, or an safc/vafc would be the less expensive option...hondata becomes more expensive, and for only 6 psi on such a boost friendly motor, i'm not sure it's worth investing such money...your motor sounds like it should be ok for boost, as long as all the regular maintenance has been done to your motor (head gasket, timing belt, etc...)...the turbo you run is actually somewhat of a preference issue...i've heard of a lot of people who run small t25's who are happy with them (for good spool up and general power)...others will stick with the generic t3/t04 setup that comes with the turbo kits...you have to realize though that 6 psi on a t25 and 6 psi on a t3/t04 are two very different things...with the larger compressor housing, you are flowing a hell of a lot more air than with that of the t25...anyways, it sounds like you have a lot more research to do before you start buying pieces and parts for your turbo setup...just remember not to cheap out and go with the knock off ebay brands (since those parts often fail and cause major problems)...good luck...

Yes, cheaper in the long run unless he doesnt know what he's doing

It has everything you should need for install and could be CARB certified depending on who you go with

Turbo depends on you really, what are your goals? Go with a FMIC if your friend is doing the piping

You would need at least some kind of fuel management system. Motor work is up to you but i would run compression tests and such to make sure engine can handle it.
And would a new stock clutch be fine?
It should for now, but get a better clutch later on

If I had the resources, I would rely on my friend to do the pipes, if he was willing to do so. Saves you a little money that you can put towards other things.
As for the IC. I personally would try to score a starion FMIC. I think that would be plenty of IC for you and something you can grow into.
I would suggest the Hondata route for engine management. If you know someone who has Uberdata, you may consider that route.

To make it simple, use a fmic, have your friend weld the intercooler piping and for 6psi on an f22b2, go with a t25.

What kinda a car can i get bigger injectors out of at the local junkayd, DSM?

should i upgrade the fuel pump and add a fpr?

You don't need a fpr but a new pump would be good, but not necessary for 6psi. I wouldn't get the t25. Go with the t3/to4e. Speaking from experience, you want to get parts that can handle more power then you plan for. Boost is addictive. You can't understand this until you have it. Ultimately you will want to run more then 6psi and since your motor can handle it, (assuming comp/leakdown is good) why would you sell yourself short? Don't buy stuff twice. Do it once, and do it right

I would do your research and take your time to do it right. i finally completed my kit about a month ago.

I was impressed in certain respects on the t25 on my car.
the pros:
-it spools really fast im making full boost by 3k rpm and it made a lot of low end torque. i made 237lb ft of wtq.
-the stock mitsubishi Wastegate is set at 8psi and it hasn't spiked on me yet.
the cons:
-too small and doesn't push enough CFM to make the horsepower i wanted it too
-its kinda hard to stay out of boost on the highway you just have to be easy on the gas pedal.
-top end kinda sucks but shitfting at 5-5500k rpm my low end torque saves my ***.

the accord motor is great for turbo. I totally owned my friends prelude from a 30kick. he is making 165whp out of his prelude and i pulled 2 cars on him in 3rd and kept pulling and by 4th gear he was in my rear view.

I would definately go with a front mount. i used the johnny race car 6" but he has more sizes to choose from now.

save the money and upgrade your clutch. i went with an exedy stage 1 street disc good up to 300hp and after about 6 pulls on the dyno when we were tuning it, the clutch started slipping a little.

have the IC pipes welded if you can. mine are one piece per side. so i don't have to worry about couplers blowing off.
you can run DSM injectors..with a walbro 255lph fuel pump..i ended up having the buy a FPR because the fuel pump rasied my fuel pressure big time and caused my car to run really rich. i bought an AEM FPR.

I would definately go with uberdata for engine management I love it. i thought about going with the AFC hack but now i know i can be sure my motor isnt gonna go kerplunk from advanced timing. PM me if you have any questions about my t25 setup...theres some pics in this thread https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1
