Default newbie question - what is the difference between tig and oxy/acetylene?

just like the topic says, what is the difference between tig and oxy/acetylene welders? thanks.

TIG uses an electricity generated arc that is protected by an inert gas, and oxy-acetylene uses gasses that burn and create a flame. If you want to do primarily welding, get tig, if you want to do mainly heating of parts and cutting, get the oxy-acetylene.
