Default 88 DX tranny HELP!

Can I swap the guts out of my 89 Si transmission into a 88 DX Case and not have to change the flywheel/clutch? - Darrell

yes you can, however, you may have to use the DX differential carrier and bearings and swap the Si ring gear onto it - not all cases are compatible as far as bearing sizes

Okay, well would swapping the mainshaft out of an 88 Si be as easy as changing the mainshaft? I have a spare 88 Si trans I had forgot about. And I have the old 89 Si mainshaft. - Darrell

yes, you can swap mainshafts - you are wanting to put the 89 mainshaft in the 88 because of clutch - correct?
