b16 turboed all the way and no looking back you can get them to 300whp stock internals with good management. built b16turbo 450whp+.

the b18c5 is a beautiful motor to start with to do a n/a setup. BUT your limited to 250whp max with lots of money$$ and luck/tuning.

the way i would do it is. b16turbo built internally and great engine management running 10-12psi that my friend is power and reliability. Up the boost to 18-20psi for track days, street racing whatever gets you going.

How about built and turbo'd B18B1? Could potentially cost less money than either option with higher HP possible than the Type R and more torque out of boost than the B16.

I'd stick with your D16 and spend 1/3 the money on a turbo kit, get a good tune. Bam you'll keep up with TyteR's all day son

i have a B16 turbo (blown rings) and was thinking of just dropping in a b18c4 with the turbo whilst i rebuild the b16? or just replace the B16's rings and get a good tune (so hopefully i can eat type r's for breakfast as my b16 when n/a kept up with type r's .. )

anyway think i'm gonna go b16, its simpler easier and less expensive, definately gonna get it tuned this time tho...

this thread is so open ended.....

I went through the same decision, and decided on the N/A route. Why?

- in the long term, more reliable!
- less maintenance
- I don't need 300hp on my regular street car

This thread is old and against the rules... kind of like me.

Regardless, I call 100% certifiable BS on a "built" N/A vehicle being more reliable than a turbo engine. If you can't understand why, you have a lot to learn.
