Default eg suspension tech

ok i'm trying to get my 60' times down. on my eg.

i'm running 2.7 and i see alot of 2.5-2.0's but do i have to have power to get there. because.

my car is stock and i ran it to the tracks for the first time and got a 18.08.

i got some 900lbs rear springs to swap next time and a traction bar and i was going to get a 2 step revlimiter, also the day i was racing i had stock vx rims with 40lbs of pressure in them i was going lower to 22psi for the track.

<options for power if needed: I have a complete 94 integra LS car<wrecked> that i bought for 100's
i have 3 turbo's in my basement 2 silvia T25's and a silvia s14 t28>

my goal this year is 16's all stock and only suspension mods and a hella lower 60 foot time.

Wow. I know my VX is slow, but I think it should do a mid to high 17. Your 60 ft. is terrible. You'll need to work on your launch. A 16 second VX is possible with some bolt ons, but I wouldn't waste time. If you have an LS, swap it in and get mid 14 second time slips.

yeah that's what i was kinda asking. is it the power that's killing my 60 foot times<or lack of power> or is it traction?......

Just keep doing it. With enough practice, launching will be second nature.

It's not suspension. To go that slow it's your driving.(not being mean, just honest) What tires do you run?

I ran 17.4 with a 2000 dx hatch i bought straight fom the dealer. I even had a set of gsr rims in the back seat with cheater slicks that were too bald to run at the track. I had a 2.4 60', which was ok considering i didn't have a tach. You just need to practice. You can't expect to kick *** your first time at the track.

get some good tires first... azenis are a great bang for buck street tire. I bet w/ better tires u could cut .5 off the 60' just that alone.

azenis are hella heavy.... suspension will help but only if your putting down good #s. do the ls swap, its worth it since it only cost you 100 bux and you will notice a big difference by that alone...

OK i run VX Stock rims what is a good tire to run just for the strip? besides slicks.

i also have four sets for LS 94 black stock rims to use.

but i know the light things are the less hp you lose so.... but the wider a tire is the better traction but it not to bad to have a little weight on the tire also.

the traction & price benefits of the azenis far outweigh the weight of the tire.

I think you should buy some 155/r13 tires and just run them how the back only like skinnies(sp?). The fronts you would really need something wider.

Your 60fts are horrible. even for a VX.

I used to bracket race in mid 90s with my pretty much stock CRX on 15" tires and wheels. Best 60ft with stock tires were 2.1s with Potenza RE910s

You just have to play with your launching technique. and dont go over the burnout box also with stock tires. You're just dragging water to the starting line.

I think if you swaped in any other tranny into it the thing would be about a second quicker.Do you even get the thing in third in the quarter mile.I drove mine for a year before swaping to ls turbo.I think the engine would only be turning 7k at 225 mph.lol...But lowering the tire pressure or putting any performane 14" tire should bog that engine down nicely.

with your car being stock right now...suspension and traction is the least of your worries!!!!! Just keep practing on the launch @ the tree and shifting!
