He's right. Just keep an eye on it. Oil is your engine blood, take care of it and it will take care of you. If it is a track ony car, I would change it at least once ever weekend race. ( about 6 - 10 passes or so )
If it is your daily driver, then check it occasionaly and be sure to not let it go over the oil manufacturers recomended mileage

I ran 2 events without changing and the oil still looks good but i will change it before i run it again... Like someone else said, depends on how it looks...

Before an event after and ever 1000 miles or so. Oil is cheap free for me and I'd like to take advntage of that frequent oil changes have made the car feel a lot lighter.
i have heard of people changing oil(not filter) every pass to get the heat out of the motor. they would wait till 30mins before the pass and change it so it had time to cool down with the motor before they changed it. They just did drain and fills.

On our chevy we used to flush the cooling system between runs to cool the motor. You dont want to run on cold oil.
I change my oil every month, roughly every 30 passes or so. It is a stock B16 so it doesnt really need all that attention.
