so which school do you go to?

anyway, talk to you later.

im at UF. we dont really have set groups for different parts of the car (although we do have our welder, suspension guy, etc...) but we kinda all do everything. And i guess your not behind, we were just way ahead... but not anymore!

at least we have something to do now, it was getting kinda boreing there for a little while.

Looks good man. I did FSAE at Cal state from 02-03. You guys are behind...lol. Been there done that too many times. We didnt get our car finished until May1st...but we also only had 8 people on the team. Good luck this year in MI.

its funny that everyone says we're behind, cuz this is where the teams usually are every year for our school. We also start from scratch too. We don't really take from last year's car and improve it, but we design a whole different one.

thanks for the comments tho, it should be fun when we're all at the competition.

i think we just had an over-acheiving captain this year... im pretty sure our car was running by chrismas, if not just a couple weeks after. but its given us enough testing time to wreck it twice, so mabey its not so great

on the other hand our Baja team built their ENTIRE buggy in less than 7 days last year... they claim the welds were still hot on some of the suspension parts as they loaded it into the truck to take it to competition. lol

Our target is to have a driveable car on April 1st.... so we're pretty much on track.

Although the more learn, the more I think a simple car running on March 1st would be better.

Is it just me or does that weld look terrible? I'm not trying to be a dick, but I weld chromoly all day long and it's not supposed to look like that. It looks very hot to say the least.

its OK, i'll take lightly to your critisism...I think it's called penetration..he got that sucker all the way thru. That weld is solid as a *****-f#cker. I will consider that you've welded for a while, but this guy is a freakin' pro. He knows his ****.

Perhaps you would like to donate your services and TIG our car for us...

In the mean time, we have a great welder working with us. We're learning a lot in the process, and we wouldn't be able to build the car without his help.
