Default im guessing the clutch is gone?

well i drive a 95 gsr, about 3 days ago the shifting got really stiff and would be tuff to shift gears but it would, now half the time it wont go into gear at all and when im letting out of my clutch into first if i dont do it just right the whole car just shakes all to hell.

my first guess would be the clutch, but could it possibly be something else? tranny fluid, synchros? anything..

Sounds more like synchros to me.

I thought when the clutch was going bad, your gears would slip when trying to accelerate?

Same symptoms happened to me a few months ago in my 96 GS-R. Turned out to be a broken spring finger, so I replaced clutch and flywheel.

I had a similar problem in my DA. It just would not go in2 first or second or reverse, you really had to force the gearstick. Anyway replace the gear oil with Synchro Shift gear oil (I think that's what it's called) Its available in the US as far as I know, comes in a white bottle with red writing on it. It's not cheap stuff though. You'll probably need about 4 or 5 pints (2-3L) of it. Worth a try before you go replacing stuff

that's a bad pilot or throwout bearing......when you push the clutch in it goes away right?

more likely either you just need to adjust your clutch cable, need more clutch or tranny fluid, bad syncros, or bad pressure plate. Your clutch is probably fine though. But if it's an old clutch, you might as well replace the whole clutch assembly while your at it.

Make sure that you also have the flywheel resurfaced and that you replace both the pilot and release bearings.

first of all i would check clutch fluid, then check for leaks where the clutch resevoir is mounted onto the firewall and check inside under the dash also, might be a leaking master cylinder and check the slave cylinder as well. i would do those first because it only requires looking. if those are okay next i would check pedal height and freeplay, never known it to be a problem but you never know. if those show no signs of flaw then check the fluid inside the transaxle housing. there are a couple of test u can do with the car on, its in the haynes repair manual if u have one. my opinion is its just a leak somewhere. my lil sis b16a3 shifts thru the gears fine when its sitting there but in motion from first to second its almost impossible, here master cylinder is leaking.

If you have a problem going only into one gear specifically, look to the synchro.

If you have a problem going into all gears, first check the fluid. If everythings legit, then dont even bother checking the MC and SC. Look to the clutch. Sounds to me like a clutch issue. Itll shift fine when the car is sitting, but when actually moving into gear, it wont.
